Our daughters keep returning to your camp year after year and always ask for more. The family must send us all the documents needed in advance. We suggest the children have some pocket money if they would like to buy something during the excursions or free time. We usually put students of similar age but different nationalities together in the same room to encourage them to speak English.

Guided by Paul Alexander and his team of expert Irish fashion designers, milliners, and stylists, you’ll develop technical expertise and valuable communication skills. Our classes cover everything from visual research and drawing to textiles, pattern cutting, and garment construction. Be bold in your designs and enjoy the satisfaction of creating beautiful garments while acquiring lifelong skills.
Campers design and sew their own clothing, explore showrooms and workshops of brands such as Gap, shop for fabric at Mood (as seen on Project Runway), and visit world-class fashion museums. SEWING CAMP (ages 8-16) Designed for beginning and returning campers interested in sewing. Campers will complete two projects over the week, all while mastering the sewing machine. We reached out and weren’t able to confirm their plans for this summer, but they will likely announce details here. With titles like Fizz Boom Bang, Red Hot Robots, Brixology and Nature’s Secrets, Mad Science summer camp sessions have us intrigued. Workshops, held at a number of area locations, are geared to kids from kindergarten through 6th grade, giving them the chance to be junior scientists for the summer.
One of our newest and most exciting summer projects—Patchwork Bottoms—gives young designers the chance to create their own one-of-a-kind garments from the bottom up! Students can choose to make a skirt, shorts, or pants, all using bold colour blocking techniques and a wide variety of fabric options. From denim and corduroy to canvas and more, students will have access to a vibrant fabric wall to mix and match their favourite textures and shades. This camp includes a “Learn to Sew” component where students will build foundational skills while creating a wearable piece they’ll be proud of. No two tops will be alike, thanks to our selection of unique fabrics from our handpicked summer collection.

What Makes Us Unique
Fashion Camp culminates in a fun and sustainable Fashion Show that highlights the students’ design process and showcases their outfits in both action and function. I began teaching Fashion Forecasting at Buffalo State College and now hold the position of Advisory Board Chair for The Harkness Center of Fashion Design and Technology Program. Inspiring and mentoring others to develop their creative talents and grow their own fashion businesses is what drives me today. I moved to NYC, where I worked in Fashion Marketing, Product Development and Merchandising. Now, after 35-years in fashion, I have had the pleasure of leading design, product development and merchandising teams for brands including New Era Cap, Life is good, Timberland and OshKosh B’Gosh. As a parent, it’s easy to feel inadequate when you never learned even the basics to pass on to your children.
